Overview
The ATP Finals and the WTA Finals bring together the eight best singles players of the season on each tour for the final big events of the year. The ATP Finals have been held in Turin, Italy, since 2021, and the 2025 WTA Finals were played in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The men's year-end championship was first played in 1970 and the women's in 1972. Novak Djokovic has won the ATP Finals a record seven times, and Jannik Sinner won in 2024 and again in 2025, beating Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(4), 7-5 in the 2025 final. Elena Rybakina won the 2025 WTA Finals by beating Aryna Sabalenka 6-3, 7-6(0).
No WTA Finals were held in 2020.
How it works
Eight singles players qualify through the season rankings race. They are split into two round-robin groups of four, and the top two in each group reach the semi-finals. Both finals are played indoors on hard courts.
