Rybakina beats Sabalenka to win the US Open
Elena Rybakina won her third major, adding the US Open to the Australian Open she won in January, both against Aryna Sabalenka.
Elena Rybakina, the second seed, beat top seed and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka in the final of the 2026 US Open.
It is the third Grand Slam singles title of Rybakina's career, after Wimbledon in 2022 and the 2026 Australian Open, where she also beat Sabalenka in the final, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Rybakina also beat Sabalenka in the 2025 WTA Finals final, 6-3, 7-6(0).

Sabalenka had reached the finals of both the Australian Open and the US Open in 2026, and lost both to Rybakina. She has won four majors: the Australian Open in 2023 and 2024 and the US Open in 2024 and 2025.
